From Colorado to Oregon: We’re all in the same fight

Last week a group of activists from Oregon visited western Colorado for a tour of oil & gas drilling in the region. On Monday morning, they stopped by the Colorado Oil & Gas Conservation Commission meeting in Rifle for public comments. The group included Francis Eatherington, Alex Budd, and filmmaker Amy Schlotterback. On the Colorado side, Pete Kolbenschlag and Eco Flight director and pilot Bruce Gordon hosted the tour.

KDNK’s Amy Marsh did a great wrap-up of the tour. Her story includes an interview with Akos Losz, Senior Research Associate at Columbia University Center on Global Energy Policy. Losz touches on the market and logistical hurdles that would need to be overcome even if the Jordan Cove Project was approved.

On the Oregon leg of the tour, activists participated in a flyover of the Jordan Cove site sponsored by Eco Flight, and was covered by local newspapers.
