Yellowstone Safe Passages will hold a Community Information Session on Thursday at Chico Hot Springs for residents to learn about efforts to help wildlife safety cross U.S. Highway 89 in Park County.

Much of the discussion will revolve around findings from the Yellowstone Safe Passages’ recent assessment, which can be found at https://www.yellowstonesafepassages.org/highway-assessment.

Representatives of Yellowstone Safe Passages will review the report’s key findings, answer questions, and address concerns from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Knowles Room at Chico Hot Springs. Snacks and beverages will be provided.

Yellowstone Safe Passages is composed of citizens who live, work and play in the Upper Yellowstone watershed, according to the group’s website. Its partners include state and federal agencies, Park County elected officials, private foundations, community groups, conservation groups, anglers, landowners, business owners, and individuals “who are working to enhance the safety of people and wildlife traveling along Highway,” according to the site.

There also will be Community Information Sessions on April 1 in Gardiner and on April 4 in Livingston. The Gardiner event is 6-8 p.m. at the Gardiner Community Center, 214 Main St.

The Livingston event is 6-8 p.m. at the Park County Fairgrounds Exhibit Hall, 46 View Vista Drive. Snacks and beverages will be provided at both these events.

“The success of our work depends on all of you, and we would love to see you there!” reads a recent statement from Yellowstone Safe Passages.
