The Sunday morning of Colorado Public Lands Day and Armed Forces Day was hazy with slight winds, but overall a splendid day to fly around the San Luis Valley. It’s what EcoFlight does and what the San Luis Valley Ecosystem Council hired the Aspen-based company to do on May 17 for a pair of state legislators and community leaders who work with local veterans.

The idea was to get an aerial view of the public lands that encompass the Valley and to share with the legislators and veterans’ organizations the significance and importance of the lands. That’s what the SLV Ecosystem Council does under Chris Canaly and Anna Vargas.
