Mission

Provide the aerial perspective to help address the Roaring Fork Valley's traffic problems and to promote a new valley-wide sustainable transportation program.

On today’s flight through Colorado’s Roaring Fork Valley, flying the region’s traffic congestion from Aspen to Glenwood Springs, the reality was stark: long corridors of vehicles winding through the valley, many of them single occupancy, underscoring the daily congestion that plagues this vital corridor. This overflight was part of a broader effort to assess how transportation choices are impacting the region’s air quality, climate, and quality of life.

EcoFlight’s partner CLEER is working hard to address these challenges by advocating for more sustainable modes of transportation—encouraging residents and visitors alike to bike, carpool, or utilize the Roaring Fork Transportation Authority (RFTA) bus system. Reducing reliance on personal vehicles is critical not only for easing traffic but also for lowering greenhouse gas emissions, which contribute directly to climate change. Viewing the highway from the air drove home just how vital it is that we invest in clean, accessible transportation solutions.
