Mission
Advocate and learn from the air with conservation partners working to protect the Green River Valley from proposed mining.
Fly the Green River Valley, just north of Mount St. Helens. Seeing this spectacular landscape from the air gives a unique perspective on what is at stake. The Green River Valley is threatened by proposals for an open-pit hard rock mine that, if realized, would irreversibly damage habitat, recreation, clean water, and local communities.
Since 2005, the Cascade Forest Conservancy and partners have fought tirelessly to stop mining proposals here. But the cycle of lawsuits and new permits is not a permanent solution. The best way to safeguard the valley is through a mineral withdrawal - a federal land management tool that would prohibit mining in this sensitive area. To achieve this, Tribes, businesses, organizations, and individuals have come together to ensure this valley remains a place for wildlife, clean water, and outdoor recreation.
Thank you to our passengers for their efforts to ensure that the Green River Valley, its wild steelhead, cherished recreation opportunities, and source of clean water for thousands remain a thriving and resilient part of the Cascades for generations to come.
