Mission

Aerially scope Lake Tahoe Basin to explore proposed wildlife crossing zones with the Wildlands Network, conservation partners, Nevada and California state agencies, the Washoe Tribe, and members of the media.

The Lake Tahoe Basin Wildlife Connectivity Study is ongoing, and its results are informing efforts to construct wildlife crossings in South Lake Tahoe to support permeability across roads like Highway 50 and Pioneer Trail Road.

Flying reveals the sharp divide between essential wildlife habitat and the roads that fragment it. We flew over wildlife-vehicle collisions hotspots, highlighting key zones where targeted infrastructure, like wildlife overpasses or underpasses, could significantly reduce collisions and reconnect fragmented ecosystems for species like mule deer, black bear, and mountain lion

Our flight underscored just how urgent and actionable this issue is. Thank you for taking the time to view this landscape from above. We're proud to support efforts that make the roads safer for both wildlife and people.
