Mission

Flight over Dupuyer Creek and the surrounding plains of north-central Montana with land owners and farmers in the region and advocates.

From above, we followed the story of water and wildlife as it flows down from the Rocky Mountain Front - home to grizzly bears, migratory birds, and countless other species - through Dupuyer Creek, past proposed injection well sites, and into the agricultural communities near Lake Frances and Valier. Seeing this landscape from the air underscores how connected it is: mountain headwaters feeding working lands, and shared water resources sustaining both people and wildlife.

Our overflight highlighted growing concerns about injection wells in this area, which could threaten groundwater quality and fragment the surrounding habitat. These plains, creeks, and riparian corridors form critical pathways for wildlife movement and ecological health, and any industrial intrusion risks disrupting that balance. Protecting the integrity of this watershed - keeping it intact, unpolluted, and connected - is not only essential for wildlife but also for the farming communities and Hutterite colonies downstream that depend on clean, reliable water.
