Mission

Provide community members the aerial perspective of the Elk Mountains and the Crystal River.

The Crystal is one of the last undammed and undiverted rivers in Colorado, and a major tributary of the Roaring Fork River which provides between 6-12% of the Colorado River's annual flow.

EcoFlight is part of the Crystal River Wild and Scenic and Other Alternatives Feasibility Collaborative Steering Committee, a group of local citizens and experts who have come together to identify a shared community vision and goal for the Crystal River. EcoFlight has been providing overflights to Steering Committee members, press, local government representatives, students, and experts to share the big-picture perspective on the necessity of protecting the Crystal and its local character. Learn more. Our flight continued to Snowmass, up Buckskin Pass, and then followed Maroon Creek back to Aspen Airport.
