Mission

Increase the current understanding of the Navajo Nation watersheds to allow for environmentally sound watershed management.

The Navajo Nation covers over 16 million acres of land and encompasses multiple large watersheds upon which these sacred lands depend. The Nation is evaluating these important watersheds, including springs that nourish riparian habitats and are essential to Navajo ceremonial practices, to create a vision to guide large-scale watershed restoration projects.
