Protecting the Gallatin & Madison ranges

Date: 09/23/2022     State: MT     Issue: Wild Lands     Partners: Greater Yellowstone Coalition, Wild Montana, Winter Wildlands Alliance Airport Origin : Bozeman, MT

Mission

The gorgeous, remote Gallatin and Madison ranges offer solace and recreation for visitors and the growing communities of Bozeman, Livingston, Big Sky, and Gardiner. Our flight partners are working to ensure these lands, that connect the Custer Gallatin National Forest and Yellowstone National Park, remain intact and pristine for wildlife to thrive and the coming generations to enjoy. As some of the wildest places left in the continental US, this area must be managed to protect the undeveloped landscape, clean water, wildlife habitat, and recreation opportunities.

EcoFlight's partners are working to protect about 250,000 acres of this landscape. The integrity of the Gallatin and Madison ranges are critical to recreation, the economy, wildlife habitat connectivity, and clean drinking water. These efforts have clear support - Montanans want to protect the natural, undeveloped qualities of this special place.
