Fly with the Wind River Tribe to view land that is being purchased and returned to Tribal stewardship — land to support a growing buffalo herd.

Buffalo are central to the Tribes’ cultural identity, history, and healing. Restoring buffalo to Tribal ancestral lands is a powerful act of renewal, and requires intact, healthy landscapes where these animals can roam freely, as they once did.

Lifting off from Dubois, Wyoming, we traced the contours of Red Rock and the sweeping terrain of the Wind River region. From above, we saw the Shoshone and Arapaho buffalo herds and the vast, connected landscapes that honor both ecological integrity and cultural sovereignty.
