Mission
Provide aerial footage and photographs for The National Audubon Society's public education material on restoring bird habitat in the Sacramento Valley.
We flew above the Sacramento Valley, a hotspot along the pacific byway where birds stop to refuel. The wetlands of the Sacramento Valley provide critical water, food, and shelter. However, as water becomes more scarce and development increases, the marshy wetlands are disappearing. Water is being diverted from the wetlands for agricultural uses, limiting available habitat for brooding and molting birds.
Our Audubon partners are working with farmers and landowners to conserve and create essential bird habitat, designing initiatives that work both for farmers and for birds.
